Inspired by beautifully beaded Métis grandmother pieces, and the courage and resilience of Two Spirit and Indigiqueer youth, this custom illustration by Michif and Franco-Manitoban artist Janelle Desrosiers celebrates the message that all children are sacred. The bison, a symbol of the Métis people, is adorned by Métis florals in the colours of the Pride Progress flag, and embraced by the words All Children Are Sacred / Toot Lii Zanfaan Ii Son Saakrii / Tout Les Enfants Sont Sacrés. Janelle is grateful to the community in the Michif Language group for help with the Michif French translation, with a special thanks to Verna DeMontigny and Heather Souter. 10% of proceeds will be donated to the 2Spirit Manitoba Inc.. -
