Your FAQs

I don’t know anything about brands or websites. Is that a problem?2023-01-12T19:14:34+00:00

Not a problem at all!

Developing your brand and planning your website is intimidating and the process can be complex.

It’s half art, half science and a dash of highly honed instincts—which is why working with a team that has education, skills, experience and innate talent is invaluable. It’s also why we’ve put together a brief outline of our work process to help get you started.

If you have any questions about the topics that we’ve covered, or if there’s something specific that we haven’t gone over, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

How do I find the best website designer or brand developer?2021-10-25T20:10:18+00:00

Like a lot of things, this question is relative!

Every professional has different specialties, work processes, and ways of connecting with their clients. As the client, you’re the one who decides how much value each of those elements have.

Are you looking for a team that’s creative, passionate, caring, motivating and dependable? Do you want professionals who take the time to connect with you and craft something personalized, authentic and beautiful? Do you want a team who can help you align your business with your feminist values? Do you want a team who’s invested in you and your success—and in it for the long haul?

If so, that’s Bloom and Brilliance!

Let’s build something beautiful.

How long does it take to complete a branding or website project?2023-01-12T19:15:15+00:00

The Essential Brand + Website Package, which is a one-page website with a wordmark suite, has a 8-12 week timeline.

The Signature Brand, Collateral + Website Package, which is a multi-page website with a full wordmark and brand collateral suite, has an 12-16 week timeline.

The Premium Brand, Collateral + Website Package, which is an e-commerce website with a full logo and brand collateral suite, has a 16-20 week timeline.

How much does a Bloom + Brilliance branding and website package cost?2021-10-25T20:08:08+00:00

The average cost of a Bloom + Brilliance brand and website package is $15,000. Smaller scale projects are $6,000+. Larger scale projects can be $25,000+. The price of your package is based on things like the scope of the project, special features, custom or stock graphics, illustrations and photography, etc.

We offer packages for websites, stationery, branding and more to give you an idea, but rest assured that we evaluate each project individually. You won’t pay for something you don’t need or something that you’re not getting.

PS. We love to give back to my community when we can! If you are part of a Winnipeg non-profit or charity organization, please contact us with details of your project and we’ll see what we can work out.

How about payment plans?2020-07-07T20:15:50+00:00

We all work with budgets, and it can be frustrating to compromise your vision because of dollars and cents. That’s why we offer payment plans for clients whose dreams are a little bigger than their pocketbook. As part of our feminist operating principles, we do not charge any extra fees or interest for using or extending a payment plan.

Just let us know in the beginning stages so we can outline a project and payment schedule that makes the most of what you’re working with!

Which payment methods does Bloom + Brilliance accept?2021-02-09T15:54:11+00:00

You can pay with a good old-fashioned certified cheque, a fancy email money transfer or by credit card.

If you’re a non-profit or charity based in Manitoba, we’ve been known to accept payments in hugs and/or cookies!

What is Feminist Entrepreneurship?2020-07-07T20:17:56+00:00

There are various themes and interpretations, but at its core Feminist Entrepreneurship is the pursuit of gender equality through entrepreneurial ventures that are founded on ethical and intersectional feminist principles.

“Entrepreneurial feminism, developed from social feminism, is a theory that explains how feminist values are enacted through the venture creation process to improve the position of women in society. Coined by Barbara Orser and Catherine Elliott, entrepreneurship is viewed as a mechanism to create economic self-sufficiency and equity-based outcomes for girls and women.

Entrepreneurial feminists enter commercial markets to create wealth and social change, based on the ethics of cooperation, equality, and mutual respect.”

Wikipedia

To expand on that, feminist entrepreneurs use entrepreneurship as a means of creating social change and building a more equitable world for women, Indigenous people, people of colour, and other marginalized groups such as the LGBTQ2+ community, people with disabilities, etc.

How does Bloom + Brilliance operate within a feminist framework?2020-07-09T16:00:44+00:00

As a business founded by a feminist, a woman, a member of the Manitoba Métis and LGBTQ2+ communities, we believe in:

  • contributing to an inclusive, equitable and sustainable economy
  • paying contractors and vendors fair rates and living wages
  • prioritizing work-life balance for ourselves, our clients, and any contractors and vendors we work with
  • offering accessible and inclusive pricing and payment options for services and products provided, without extra fees or interest
  • ethical sales practices (no hard sell, shaming or “pain-point” tactics)
  • practicing generosity with financial support and pro-bono services for charities, non-profits and organizations that share similar values
  • leveraging our experience, knowledge and skills to support communities, organizations and businesses that share similar values
  • acknowledging how privilege has shaped our own lived experiences
  • expanding the definition of success to include metrics other than financial wealth and conspicuous consumption
  • the principle of abundance (there is enough for all of us) versus the myth of scarcity that patriarchal capitalism relies on
  • the processes of Indigenization, Decolonization and Reconciliation
  • supporting political movements that promote: gender and racial equity, robust solutions to poverty and homelessness, expanding public services, protecting our natural resources, investing in sustainable and environmentally-conscious initiatives, making higher education accessible to all, and more.
  • mixing the personal with the political with business
