Janelle Desrosiers
Feminist Entrepreneur, Web Designer + Brand Developer
Founder + Creative Director of Bloom + Brilliance

I’ve been a creative entrepreneur (and a feminist!) since I was a child. My journey started with a classic lemonade stand, but it wasn’t until I was a bit older—and designed my first logo for an actual business—that I realized I was on the right path.
When my aunt hired me to create a real, live logo for her salon, I saw that my love for design could have a purpose. I immersed myself in design and arts courses in school and even gave myself design projects like menus and posters at my after school jobs. So it’s not surprising that I ended up working in the advertising world at a high profile agency right out of college. It was an incredible place to cut my teeth. To be part of a large team, to see all the moving parts and to understand the nuances of how marketing and design work together.
But over time I wanted something different.
I saw women like myself taking centre stage as entrepreneurs. It was so exciting to witness women finding their voice, putting themselves out there, connecting with other women, and building them up. I wanted to be part of that.
So in 2013, I opened the doors to Bloom + Brilliance.
From the beginning, the priority in my business has been the partnership I have with my client. When I start a project, it’s really like starting a relationship. The process is personal, it’s honest, collaborative and intuitive. I’ve worked with hundreds of women in every sector—from non-profit to corporate to small business—and I’ve found again and again that it’s not just about designing a brand that looks incredible. It has to be more than that.

It’s not always easy. It’s a process. A journey. But when you have someone beside you who can draw out what’s special, what’s powerful about you, who sees the full potential of your business and can present that vision to you—it’s a kind of magic that’s undeniable.
The goal of every Bloom + Brilliance project is to share our clients’ passion and purpose with style, clarity, and precision. To create something beautiful that reflects the past, present, and future of their business. When we communicate that successfully through design, we’ve not only built something timeless, we’ve built something unforgettable.
I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba (the heart of Treaty 1 Territory, and the Canadian prairies!) with my husband, Nyco, our son, Jude, and dog, Morgan. I work with amazing clients from all over—as close to home as my very own neighbourhood, all the way to our beautiful coasts and overseas. My clients are work-at-home-moms (like me!), women working to turn their side hustle into a career, and those looking to bring their established business to the next level.
If you have a dream for your life’s work, I want to help you build it.
